FAQ
What makes Radical Massage Therapy different?
At Radical Massage Therapy, I specialize in supporting people living with chronic pain, recovering from injury, and navigating complex medical conditions—especially those who haven’t found relief through conventional approaches. The care and persistence I bring to each session is what truly sets my practice apart. I take the time to address issues step by step, with the goal of moving clients toward “maintenance mode”—where fewer sessions are needed, but lasting improvements remain. My focus is always on creating sustainable change and helping every client progress toward greater health, comfort, and overall well-being.
Who are your ideal clients?
I work with people navigating chronic pain, complex medical conditions, and those simply looking to improve their health and quality of life. My clients include individuals with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, POTS, autoimmune disorders, TMJ dysfunction, digestive issues, cancer, post-surgical recovery needs and more. While I specialize in medical and hard-to-treat conditions, I also welcome anyone seeking restorative, evidence-based bodywork.
Do you work with children, pregnant clients, or elders?
Yes. My approach is always adapted for safety and comfort. For children, sessions are gentle, shorter in length, and always include a parent’s presence. For pregnant and postpartum clients, I provide safe, supportive care with adjustments in positioning and technique to meet the changing needs of the body. For elders, sessions are tailored with close attention to mobility, comfort, and any medical considerations, ensuring that the work is both effective and safe.
Is your space accessible?
Yes. My practice is designed to be inclusive, safe, and accessible. I adjust lighting, sound, and pressure for sensory sensitivities and honor all communication and mobility needs. This is a trauma-informed, gender-affirming space where consent and comfort come first.
What can I expect at my first session?
We’ll begin with a conversation about your health history, symptoms, and goals. Please allow for a little extra time for a detailed intake for your first appointment. I may do a quick posture or movement assessment, then explain the plan before we start. Each session is tailored to your needs, with check-ins to keep you comfortable. At the end, I’ll share recommendations for self-care or ongoing treatment.
What should I wear?
Most sessions you will undress to your comfort level and be draped with sheets/blankets. Some of the therapeutic work I do is done clothed, so coming in comfortable, loose fitting clothing that allows access to abdomen and legs is best.
What is your cancellation policy?
You’re welcome to cancel or reschedule your appointment anytime up to 24 hours in advance. If it’s within 24 hours, the full payment will be forfeited, as it’s often too short notice to offer the spot to someone else. If you arrive late, I’ll always do my best to honor your session time, but it may need to be shortened to stay on schedule for others. No-shows will be charged 100% of the service fee. Thank you for understanding and for helping me respect both our time—and the time and care I offer to every client.
Do you accept insurance?
I don’t bill insurance directly. However, I can provide a receipt (superbill) you may submit if your plan covers out-of-network massage therapy or bodywork. Many HSA/FSA accounts cover sessions with a doctor’s note.
